Travelling gives a sense of adventure and freedom. It allows us to get away from “normal” life, experience other cultures, to get to know places we have only seen in movies. We get to try new food and meet new people.

1. Ponmudi, Kerala


 


Set in the lap of the Western Ghats, this destination is packed with tea plantations, lush green hills, streams and waterfalls. One can attempt mountain climbing at Ponmudi on the Agasthayarkoodam, the highest peak in the area at 1868 feet. Pay a visit to the deer park and enjoy the sunrise to feel at one with nature at Ponmudi.

Best time to visit:

November to May.



2. Maravanthe, Karnataka (Murudeshwar)



A paradise worth driving to! The roads leading upto Maravanthe should definitely be explored for the sheer bliss of the drive (even better if we’re talking about a bike). The sea runs parallel to the roads and is definitely something to do in Maravanthe. It is a virgin beach town whose white sand beaches will facilitate that break that you’ve been wanting to take for so long.  






Murdeshwara is a town in Bhatkal Taluka of Uttara Kannada district in the state of Karnataka, India. Murudeshwara is another name of the Hindu god Shiva.  Famous for the world's second tallest Shiva statue, the town lies on the coast of the Arabian Sea and is also famous for the Murdeshwar Temple.

Murudeshwar is  1 h (49.0 km) From Maravanthe via NH66.

Best time to visit:

September to March is the perfect time to indulge in water sports at Maravanthe.




3. Hemis, Jammu & Kashmir: The snow leopard’s home




Hemis Monastery is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery (gompa) of the Drukpa Lineage, located in Hemis, Ladakh, India.. The annual Hemis festival honoring Padmasambhava is held here in early June.

Hemis Gompa, the largest and richest Buddhist monastery in Ladakh plays host to the popular yearly festival day called Hemis Tsechu.



One of the less talked about places in the Jammu and Kashmir map, Hemis is a beautiful place surrounded by snow capped ranges all around. Pay a visit to the Hemis Gompa or the Hemis National Park, which is home to the snow leopard. Let your camera have some fun here! 
Best time to visit:
The best time to visit Hemis is between May and September, when the weather is pleasant. Most of the trekking routes and passage to jeep safari are closed after November due to heavy snowfall.  


4. Kasol, Himachal Pradesh









One of the less frequented holiday places of Himachal Pradesh, Kasol is the place to be for an authentic hillside experience. The snow capped Himalayas, the Parvati river, the hippie tourists all together make for a trip worth remembering.

Best time to visit:
October to May is the best time to visit this flawless hill town. If you enjoy a winter vibe and would like to explore the town while its chilly, go to Kasol in January or February.


5. Fort Aguada, Goa (For the view of Panjim and Vasco da Gama)






Standing on the crumbling ramparts of what was once the most formidable and impregnable of the Portuguese forts in India, one looks out at a panoramic ocean, witnessing the confluence of the Mandovi River and Arabian Sea, over which the fort has kept a watch for more than four hundred years now. Aguada fort seems like the per­fect des­ti­na­tion for a bright evening. The view from climb­ing up the spi­ral stair­case, up the light­house, is ecsta­tic. It is one of the finest beau­ties overlooking the Panjim city.

6. Mokokchung, Nagaland: Seated in the hills







Mokokchung is one of the biggest urban centres of Nagaland. The main tourist attractions are the District Museum, the Town main park, Unman village and the Ao village. Visitors might also be interested in places like Longkhum, Langpangkong, Mopungchukit and Chuchuyimlang which are situated in the district.

Best time to visit:
October to June. The sowing and Harvesting festivals are colourful and alluring, so visiting at those times makes for a pleasant experience.


7. Kamshet, Maharashtra (Lohagad)








Come to the hills, ease into the idyllic surroundings, and if you’re an adrenaline junkie, paraglide! Kamshet is home to flying and paragliding schools, so make the most of it. Explore the little villages when you are on this particular holiday. The main attractions here are Bhairi caves, Bhedsa caves, Khondeshwar temple, Pavana lake and Shinde wadi hills.


19 kilometers from Kamshet is Lohagad , one of the many hill forts of Maharashtra state in India. Situated close to the hill station Lonavala and 52 km northwest of Pune, Lohagad rises to an elevation of 1,033 m above sea level.


Best time to visit:
September to April are ideal for a trip to Kamshet. Choose a time with no rains if you’re visiting with a view to paraglide.



8. Hogenakkal, Tamil Nadu








Home to what is fondly known as the Niagara Falls of India, Hogenakkal is Utopia in its own stead. The Kaveri river spits several waterfalls circling the rocks in this little village in Tamil Nadu, making it one of the most beautiful waterfalls in India.

October- March



9. Patan, Nepal (Lalitpur)







Lalitpur Sub-Metropolitan City, historically Patan, is the third largest city of Nepal after Kathmandu and Pokhara and it is located in the south-central part of Kathmandu Valley. Lalitpur is also known as Manigal.

Best time to visit:
October to March when the weather is pleasant enough toexplore the rich cultural heritage of this ancient fortified town.


10. Arambol beach, Goa









Arambol is a traditonal fisherman village located approximately a one-hour drive from the Dabolim Airport. Currently no major hotels exist in this area due to local pressure.
Beach Huts rates are available at reasonable rates and gives you a completely different experience than staying at a 3star 5star hotel.
Arambol beach is considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in Goa, amongst many other popular locations. A short walk north off the main beach is a smaller beach with a “fresh water lake” close to the sea. The water here is a mixture of fresh water and sea water. 
Arambol has one of the most charming beaches of Goa. Arambol has a distinct bohemian feel which is no longer found in other areas, such as Calangute   




                             
and Tiracol Fort is 5 km from the Beach.
